London 1908
Fun fact(s):
A quadriga is a two-wheeled chariot drawn by four horses. This design was intended to appear on the front of all future Olympic commemorative, or participation, medals.
More Info:
Participation medals were made with the same design using four different finishes: gilt silver, silver, bronze and pewter. Only the pewter medals were presented to athletes; the other finishes went to dignitaries, donors and officials.
